Sparks of Color
LOOP HOLE (Tokyo, August 2009)
Around this time, I was able to experiment with various materials as a result of receiving the Holbein Scholarship. Centering the new work I created by layering clashing colors, this exhibition included pieces from The Tree Diagram The Overlooks, as well as earlier work from 2006 to serve as a point of comparison. I tried to convey a sense of desperation and impermanence akin to sparks that burst into being and disappear in a matter of seconds.
