COME TOGETHER side one
SEZON ART SHOP (Yokohama, September 2022)
"Restless" and "disorganized." I have often faced these feelings ever since I was a young child. By no means does this mean I lack a center. But I wonder if there are subtle variations or more to the axis of that center. I don't know how to explain myself; I don’t know what is good about myself, I often suffer and worry. I was admitted to the Tokyo Zokei University in 1998 and began painting in earnest. In those days, I realized self-identity was the importance of painting, but I couldn’t express what I wanted to express very well. I think I didn't have enough experience and ability to put things together. In the first half of this exhibition, "side one," I am exhibiting two unsophisticated artworks from my days at university, and I have tried to put on an exhibition that is designed to trace the changes in my style up to 2014.
