Star System
TEZUKAYAMA GALLERY (Osaka, September 2019)
The term “Star System” describes a technique used in Japanese manga where a character functions like an actor, taking on different roles in different stories. I wanted to express my own felt experience of “playing roles” by connecting this sentiment with my last decade of work and in turn, creating a sense of temporal transcendence.
