SEZON ART GALLERTY (Tokyo, February 2017)
This was a solo exhibition that took place in the brand new Sezon Art Gallery, started by the freshly-appointed director of the Sezon Museum of Modern Art, Takao Tsutsumi, as a space to explore a variety of genres and mediums. Japan still clings to ideas about ethnic identity and is guided by a set of values that are underdeveloped, I felt at the time, so I imbued the exhibition with feelings of wanting to overcome the status quo. An art collector from New York took notice of this exhibition, later leading to my first solo show in New York.
