ギャルだからって入りやめてくれ 軽率なギャルはギャルをリスペクトするならやめるべき
EUKARYOTE（2020年3月・東京）
私の教え子と一緒に開催した二人展です。作品のスタイルの違い、学生と教師というポジションの違いを超えた展示をすることで、今日の美術の表現と多様性を結びつけ、より広く社会を開放したいという気持ちを込めました 。 海外のアートシーンでは、「アイコニック」という言葉があって、表現や作品が、その作家そのもののイメージとして成立していることが、評価や判断の基準の一つになっているという話を聞いたことがあります。草間さんだったら水玉、村上さんだったらサブカル、というように、一見、特定の象徴性を確立することが、成功の近道であるように思えます。しかし、作品は、その人の中身として自然と滲み出てくるもので、自身の置かれた状況やマイノリティを乗り越えた先に、新しい価値を生み出すことが、本当の美術の役割だと信じて、私はこの展示を開催しました。
