There are things that can’t be seen from a one dimensional perspective. When I held my solo exhibition in New York, local collectors were assessing pieces through their own values, and this approach inspired me to think about the importance of individual subjectivity. In addition, with the spread of COVID-19 coinciding, it was also an opportunity for me to consider the relationship between the individual and society as a whole. In our current climate where a multiplicity of opinions proliferate and different groups are separated from each other, what is the essence that we should be looking for? When I became conscious of how significant interconnectivity is instead of simply looking at individual facets, my exploration of diversity lead to this series of works which I’ve titled “Polyhedron”.
