COME TOGETHER side two

今日までの私の表現に共通していることは、私は私という、いろいろな側面を用いて絵を描いている、と言うことで、様々に現れる多様な変化と作品数は、私が私自身を多面的に模索してきた蓄積のようなものなのだと思う。後半の「side two」では、近作と新作を中心に、2005 年の「Crossing」もホテルロビーのウィンドウで、併せて展示できることとなった。この作品は、NY のパールペイントと言う画材屋さんで、当時、不慣れな英語で苦労して購入した帆布に描いたもので、私のデビュー展である、セゾン現代美術館・東京事務所で開催した個展「TRICKSTER」に出品した私にとって記念的な作品だ。今日までのアクリル絵の具を使用した、多様な作風の始まりとも言える作品の一つで、部分と全体の関係性、異なる面の接続を試みた最新作と一緒に、過去と現在の交流や重なりも楽しんでもらいたい。いずれにしても、今回の2つの会期の中で、私の「まとまりのなさ」への、様々な模索の変遷を少しでも紹介できる機会になれば幸いで、また同時に、今までもこれからも、色彩と筆致の探究の中に、むしろその統合を求めている、私の一貫した姿勢が伝わるものでもあれば嬉しい。
